Chelsea Bridge Wharf adding value with Microsite

At MyLondonHome, we invest heavily in marketing, as we want to ensure we reach the largest audience of potential clients possible.  Back in 2007, we decided to venture into microsites; we knew that many clients, especially those from overseas, often didn’t know where to go when they were looking to sell or let their property in central London.  Each microsite is dedicated to a major development, within which we sell and let a significant number of properties.  As we take you on a tour of our microsites, you will see the magical power they have to engage our clients and add value to our service.

It is not often you get the privilege of living on the water, in a serene location with one of the world’s most exclusive and fashionable areas on your doorstep. At Chelsea Bridge Wharf you are blessed to be within a stunning development on the banks of the River Thames, adjacent to Battersea Park, which provides you with 200 acres of green and luscious parkland, including a riverside promenade, beautiful fountains and a lake, truly a beautiful place to buy and let in central London.  It is also only 0.75 miles from the iconic Slone Square, making it one London’s most desirable residential destinations.  Chelsea Bridge Wharf is a wonderful and safe development, benefiting from a 24-hour concierge, secure underground car park, restaurants, bars, and a café/delicatessen.  With the addition of the 4* Pestana Hotel and Spa in 2009, the development has only increased in both popularity now that the hotel facilities are available.

With exquisite finishes and high standard specifications, the apartments range from modest studios to extravagant penthouses, all with spectacular views that could include the River Thames, Battersea Park, the piazza, or Battersea Power Station. For those who want to live in central London, it’s hard to find a place that offers more.

History

Initially it was known as Victoria Bridge; opened in the 1840s, the aim was to provide easy access from the north bank into Battersea Park.  It was highly regarded, architecturally, but not so popular with the public, as a toll charge was initially instigated to recoup the costs of construction.  Sadly, the bridge was narrow and structurally unstable, and therefore, to avoid the Royal Family’s name being associated with a bridge collapsing, it was renamed Chelsea Bridge.  To meet the demand for commercial use of the bridge it was demolished in the 1930s and replaced with what stands today; the bridge was opened in 1937 by the Prime Minister of Canada, who was in London for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth.

The area surrounding the Chelsea Bridge was connected with the some of the first ever helicopter and balloon flights, but in recent years the area became largely dormant and was used as a complex for vehicle storage. As development has continued in Battersea and Nine Elms, Chelsea Bridge Wharf is now just one of many residential developments in the area for people who are interested in living in central London.
